Sean Donovan

Sean Donovan is a co-founder of Finix, a payments infrastructure platform company.12 He has extensive experience in the finance and payments industry, having worked in the field since he was 18 years old.1 Donovan co-founded Finix in October 2015 and served as a co-founder until December 2022.2

Prior to Finix, Donovan had a successful career at Vantiv (now known as Worldpay), where he worked for 14 years and rose to the position of Vice President of Payment Facilitators and Integrated Partners.1 He also briefly served as COO for North America at Klarna from November 2015 to May 2016.2

Donovan's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Northern Kentucky University, which he completed while working full-time at Fifth Third Bank.12 His experience and expertise in the payments industry led him to identify a gap in the market, which ultimately inspired the creation of Finix.1

Finix, headquartered in San Francisco, California, is an innovative platform that allows companies to manage their payments experience without outsourcing or building an in-house system from scratch.1 Under Donovan's co-leadership, Finix raised $45 million in Series B funding in February 2020, which was intended to help expand engineering teams and accelerate product development.1
