Sean O'Connor is a distinguished information security leader with a rich background spanning over 15 years in various security domains across public and private sectors.

Currently, Sean holds the esteemed position of Global Head of the Equinix Threat Analysis Center (ETAC)™, overseeing a team of renowned security experts dedicated to identifying and analyzing emerging threats and devising effective countermeasures to safeguard Equinix and its clientele.

Sean is an accomplished SANS author and instructor for the FOR589: Cybercrime Intelligence course, boasting multiple industry certifications and a history of speaking engagements at conferences.

With a commitment to giving back, Sean actively volunteers and mentors aspiring cybersecurity professionals, particularly students and veterans looking to make inroads into the industry.

Educationally, Sean has pursued a diverse range of qualifications, including a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) Executive Program from Carnegie Mellon University, an MBA in Business Administration and Management from Georgia Southern University, a BBA in Management Information Systems from the University of Arizona, and an Associate's degree in Military Intelligence from Cochise College.

Throughout his career, Sean has held various key positions, including Chairman of the Data Center SIG at IT-ISAC, Author & Instructor at SANS Institute, Senior Manager in Information Security at Equinix, Research Coordinator at the Evidence-Based Cybersecurity Research Group, Manager of Threat Intelligence & Incident Response at KPMG US, Senior Security Researcher and Threat Researcher at Secureworks, Senior Forensic Investigator at Mission Essential, Counterintelligence Analyst at CACI International Inc, and Human Intelligence (HUMINT) Analyst in the US Army.
