Sean Murphy

English Teacher at Fulton High School

Sean Murphy is an experienced educator and school leader with a passion for creating change and promoting social justice. After completing a double major in Film and Psychology at New York University, Sean felt called to serve others and joined Teach For America. For the next five years, he worked as a special education teacher and high school administrator in rural North Carolina impacting the lives of students and families in underrepresented communities.

His experience as a teacher led him to pursue a Master's degree in School Administration with a focus on school turnaround in rural NC at North Carolina State University. Sean then went on to serve as a School Director and Manager of Teacher Leadership Development with Teach For America's New York Institute, supporting first and second-year teachers to provide excellent education to students.

Sean believes in the vital role diversity plays in promoting social justice and has worked to create a culture of inclusivity and understanding in every school he has served. His expertise in special education and teacher leadership development makes Sean a valuable member of any educational institution.
