Sean McWilliams holds a 1st Class Honours L.LM in International/European Business Law from Trinity College Dublin and a 2.1 degree in Law with Politics from Queen's University Belfast. Along with his academic achievements, he has also completed a Certificate in American Business Practice from Loyola University Chicago.

McWilliams has an extensive background in business, analyzing data and finance. He has previously worked as a Data Analyst at Royal Bank of Scotland, First Derivatives, and Ulster Bank. He has also served as the VP, Digital Technologies at Enterprise Ireland and as a Market Executive at Enterprise Ireland. Currently, he serves as the VP Emerging Business, Southern USA at IDA Ireland.

McWilliams has also interned at the US Embassy Dublin (Foreign Commercial Service) and has gained valuable experience in market research, analysis, and business administration.
