Sean Brown

Sean K. Brown is an experienced Board Member with a strong background in venture capital, renewable energy, higher education, edtech, and business finance.

He is a graduate of the J. Reuben Clark School of Law (BYU) and is a member of the Utah Bar.

Sean serves as the General Legal Counsel at Juvo Ventures, an organization focused on investing in companies in the digital learning and future of work sectors to enhance access, quality, and outcomes for learners globally.

With a double-bottom line investment approach, Sean concentrates on early and growth-stage education and workforce technology companies that prioritize people-centered outcomes and financial sustainability.

His previous roles include General Counsel at WGU Labs Fund, General Counsel at WGU Labs, Senior Associate General Counsel at Western Governors University, and Adjunct Professor at Brigham Young University.

Sean has also worked in the legal departments of Ballard Spahr LLP, King & Spalding, and as an FBI Summer Legal Intern in Congressional Affairs.

He has a diverse educational background, with a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from Brigham Young University, a Bachelor of Science in Law from the same institution, and has studied at Kahuku High Intermediate School and Provo High School.
