Scott Sheridan

Scott Sheridan is the Chief Executive Officer of tastytrade, a financial services company he co-founded in 2017. He has over 30 years of experience in the financial sector, having previously co-founded thinkorswim, a trading technology platform that was sold to TD Ameritrade for $750 million in 2009. Before his ventures in technology and brokerage, Sheridan worked as a market maker at the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) for nearly two decades.135

Under Sheridan's leadership, tastytrade has focused on empowering individual investors by providing innovative trading tools and educational content aimed at transforming passive investors into active market participants. The platform is known for its user-friendly technology and competitive fee structure.13 Sheridan emphasizes the importance of customer service and actively engages with clients, even personally answering customer service calls to ensure high standards of support.4

In addition to his business achievements, Sheridan is involved in philanthropic efforts, serving on the Foundation Board for the Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago since 2012.1 His educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Economics from Miami University.2
