Scott Merrifield

Scott Merrifield is a seasoned professional with a diverse background in natural resource management, forestry, and utility project management.

Having joined ATCO in 2011, Scott has successfully led teams in various roles such as distribution customer connections, photovoltaic systems, business development, transmission powerline routing, substation siting, public consultation, environmental planning, and regulatory applications.

His current position at Valard Construction allows him to utilize his extensive utility experience to oversee large and intricate transmission projects.

Before his tenure at ATCO, Scott gained valuable experience in operational forestry, managing field activities like heavy equipment contractors, logging operations, and long-term forest resource planning.

Scott Merrifield holds a Bachelor's degree in Natural Resource Management from the University of Northern British Columbia and a Forest Technology Diploma from NAIT.

He has held various key positions including Sr. Project Manager at Valard Construction LP, Manager of Customer Connections, Customer Experience, Renewables Program, Project Manager, and Senior Planner at ATCO Electric.

Additionally, his forestry background includes roles such as Forestry Superintendent, Forest Operations Supervisor, Silviculture Department Lead, Environmental Certification Coordinator, and Land Use Coordinator at Sundance Forest Industries Ltd, along with being a Site Preparation Supervisor at Weldwood of Canada Ltd.
