Scott McWhorter is the co-founder and owner of Virtú Investments, a company he established with Michael Green in 1997.12 With over 30 years of industry experience, McWhorter specializes in all aspects of multi-family value creation.3 His primary responsibilities at Virtú include property acquisition and disposition strategy, transaction oversight, portfolio management, client relations, and overall firm development.1
Before founding Virtú, McWhorter had a diverse entrepreneurial background. He gained extensive transactional and analytical real estate experience working for a major California-based multi-family investment firm. He also served as COO of Premier Sports Marketing, an industry leader in athletic facility advertising, which he sold to Viacom in 1999. Additionally, McWhorter played and coached professional basketball in Europe while working as a financial advisor and player agent.1
McWhorter's educational background includes degrees in both Accounting and Finance, with an emphasis on real estate, from the University of San Francisco.1 Outside of work, he enjoys travel, live music, watching or coaching his children's sports, fitness, and outdoor activities.1
Under McWhorter's leadership, Virtú Investments has grown significantly, acquiring more than 130 properties with a total asset value exceeding $3.7 billion.2 Recently, the company announced the acquisition of Kearney Plaza, a 131-unit multifamily property in Portland, Oregon's Pearl District.4
