Scott Horvitz

Scott Horvitz is the President and CEO of Opertech Bio, Inc., a position he has held since co-founding the company in September 2011. With over 25 years of experience in managing life sciences and emerging growth companies, he has a strong background in entrepreneurship and finance. His expertise spans various areas, including fundraising, mergers and acquisitions, contract negotiation, budgeting, SEC reporting, corporate governance, investor relations, and business development.123

Before establishing Opertech Bio, Horvitz served as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Redpoint Bio Corporation from 2003 to 2016. He also co-founded 3-Dimensional Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in 1993, where he worked until its acquisition by Johnson & Johnson in 2003, ultimately serving as its CFO and Corporate Secretary.12 Additionally, he has held positions in finance at Magainin Pharmaceuticals and served on the Board of Directors for Protez Pharmaceuticals.12

Horvitz holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University at Albany and is a Certified Public Accountant. His contributions to the field have been recognized with the New Jersey Technology Council's CFO of the Year Award in June 2007.123
