Scott Farquhar

Scott Farquhar is an influential Australian businessman, best known as the co-founder and former co-CEO of Atlassian, a leading software company that specializes in tools for team collaboration and project management. Born in December 1979, Farquhar graduated from the University of New South Wales with a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and Computer Engineering. He launched Atlassian in 2002 alongside Mike Cannon-Brookes, and the company quickly became a major player in the tech industry, known for products like Jira and Confluence.15

In addition to his role at Atlassian, Farquhar is actively involved in philanthropy and investment through the Skip Foundation and Skip Capital, which he co-founded with his partner Kim Jackson. As of April 2024, Farquhar announced his decision to step down as co-CEO of Atlassian to spend more time with his family and focus on philanthropic initiatives.14 Despite stepping away from day-to-day operations, he will remain on Atlassian's board as a special advisor.5 His contributions have significantly shaped the Australian tech landscape, inspiring many entrepreneurs and startups along the way.
