Scott Beaty

Scott Beaty is a seasoned product designer with a background in journalism and graphic design. He specializes in creating simple, elegant, and useful products that people love while solving complex business challenges. With experience working on in-app peer-to-peer payments, referral programs, and exploring emerging technologies as a part of Wattpad's inaugural Labs team, Scott has honed his skills in refining often complex and seemingly contradictory data into concise, verifiable problems, and creating solutions that generate both user and business value. He is a graduate of Carleton University, George Brown College, and the University of California San Diego, with specializations in journalism and communication, graphic design, and human-computer interaction. Scott is currently a product designer at Signal Messenger, was formerly the Product Design Director at Highline BETA, Principal Product Designer at Cover, and Senior UX Designer at FreshBooks. He loves getting outside the building and spending time refining visual, UI, and interaction details with an equal weight in the overall design process. When not working, Scott can be found indulging in his love for cats, pizza, and dying things indigo.
