Saswati Bora is a professional with nearly two decades of experience in sustainable development, focusing on poverty alleviation, food security, rural development, environmental sustainability, and nutrition.
She has a strong background in leading global initiatives and developing strategies, forming innovative partnerships, and engaging with stakeholders from various sectors.
Currently, Saswati Bora holds the position of Head of Food Systems Innovation at the World Economic Forum, overseeing agriculture work in India and global projects related to technology innovations and incentives in food systems.
Before joining the WEF, she was involved with key initiatives at the World Bank, such as the Global Agriculture and Food Security Program (GAFSP) and the Global Food Crisis Program (GFRP).
Her past roles include working as a researcher at the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and as a journalist in Mumbai.
Saswati Bora is a recipient of the Global Leadership Fellowship from the World Economic Forum and holds a Master's degree in International Affairs from Columbia University, a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Delhi University, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Communications from Sophia Polytechnic in Mumbai.
