Sarath Naru

Sarath Naru, a well-known entrepreneur and venture capitalist, has made a significant impact on the Indian VC landscape. He is a managing partner at Ventureast, where he has played a pivotal role in numerous firsts in the industry, including the establishment of India's first life sciences fund, seed-stage, and incubation fund. Moreover, he has personally or through oversight invested in over 60 early-to-growth stage companies across various sectors such as technology, life sciences, healthcare, consumer goods, and infrastructure services.

Before his impressive career in VC, Naru worked as an assistant brand manager at Procter & Gamble's USA office, where he honed his skills in brand management. He also built a trading business between the USA and India during his entrepreneurial stint. Naru's extensive cross-functional experience in the USA and India has helped him in working meaningfully with investee companies and building business alliances.

Naru is a graduate of the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, where he obtained B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering. Later, he earned an MBA in Finance and Accounting at the Graduate School of Business, University of Chicago.

He has also served several executive roles in different associations, including being the treasurer of the Association of Biotechnology Led Enterprises (ABLE) and being on the Executive Council of the PanIIT Association.
