Manager, PJ Library, The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington

Launched PJ Library in Greater Washington to enroll local Jewish and interfaith families in PJ Library®; created a community partnership model for working with local Jewish agencies, schools and congregations that is emulated nationwide; design and implement family-friendly programs; provide training to community partners; create educational materials for teachers and families; spearhead all marketing, including social media, blog posts, television appearances, magazine articles, monthly e-newsletters and family communications; run PJ Our Way, a chapter book program for tweens; create opportunities for lay leadership.  
Current numbers:  8,300 PJ subscriptions, 1,600 PJ Our Way subscriptions, 200+ annual events, 45 community partners.

Created a new department to capitalize on the growing need for family programming and community outreach, running 20 successful programs for Jewish and interfaith families, including 10 brand-new ones, reaching families new to the DCJCC or new to family programs. Coordinating and expanding marketing and outreach through social media, list-serves, websites and brochures and a cohesive branding of “DCJCC Family Connections.” Running Preschool admissions and enrollment, including outreach and tours. Reaching out to and finding new families through Shalom Baby and other outlets.

Edlavitch DC Jewish Community Center

Director, Family Enrichment and Community Outreach 

Directed a Jewish early childhood program for 94 students ages 2-5 with a budget of $1.6 million; hired, trained and supervised a staff of 20+; implemented a Reggio Emilia-inspired curriculum; created new paths for parent involvement; ran admissions and enrollment; pursued NAEYC Accreditation successfully; participated in a Reggio Study Institute through the Partnership for Jewish Life and Learning; completed over 60 hours of professional development plus additional trainings and classes.

Director, Early Childhood, Youth and Family Programs 

Ran successful summer, spring and winter programs for children in Pre-K through Grade 12 as well as toddler classes; responsible for hiring, training and supervising staff; planning programs; revolutionizing parent communications; creating budgets and marketing plans.

Assistant Director, Early Childhood, Youth and Family Programs; Camp Director

Handled administrative duties such as scheduling, licensing, training, working in classrooms, acting in the director’s stead as needed. Participated in Reggio trainings and classes.

Assistant Preschool Director

Taught two- and three-year olds in a team teaching setting; created age-appropriate lesson plans. (Lead Teacher, September 2004–January 2005; Assistant Teacher, February 2003–August 2004)
