Sarah Slobin is a visual/data journalist with a rich background in data, news, and storytelling. Currently involved in special projects within the graphics desk at Reuters, she has been part of Pulitzer-winning teams in the past.
Having initially honed her skills at The New York Times, Sarah navigated through various news desks, eventually managing the graphics team for the business section. Her experience at Fortune as the infographics director was marked by creative growth, collaboration with CNNMoney, and contributing to the redesign of Fortune.com.
Transitioning to the Wall Street Journal, she broadened her portfolio, working on diverse projects from deep data dives to multimedia pieces and infographics. Sarah notably oversaw visual content for the Business&Tech and Money & Investing sections, embodying the 'Wall Street' essence of the publication.
Sarah Slobin's tenure at Quartz involved leading the Things team, contributing to publications, hiring diverse talent, and raising the bar for visual storytelling in the newsroom. Committed to experimentation and pushing boundaries, Sarah remains open to various storytelling formats.
An educator at heart, Sarah teaches Data Visualization at the New School's Journalism + Design program, embodying her commitment to nurturing the next generation of visual journalists.
