Sarah Schoemann
Research Assistant at College of Computing at Georgia Tech
Sarah Schoemann is a researcher, designer, and PhD candidate at Georgia Institute of Technology. She is known for her work in diversity and inclusiveness in games, especially as the creator and co-organizer of the Different Games Conference.
With a strong background in educational technology, Sarah has been designing and leading tech-based curricula for K-12 students since 2008. She is currently a Presidential Fellow in the Digital Media Doctoral Program at Georgia Tech, focusing her research on diversity in tech and game design.
Sarah holds a Master of Science in Integrated Digital Media from the Polytechnic Institute of New York University, a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Digital Arts from Tufts University, and is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Digital Media, Game Design/Game Studies at Georgia Tech.
Throughout her career, Sarah has been involved in various organizations such as serving as a Research Assistant and Graduate Teaching Assistant at Georgia Tech, creator and co-organizer of the Different Games Conference, as well as holding teaching positions in game studies and design at Hunter College and Queens College, and being a Graduate Assistant to the Game Innovation Lab at NYU Polytechnic.
