Sarah Witkowski

Sarah (Sadie) Witkowski is a dedicated researcher with a focus on studying sleep and memory. She holds a Ph.D. in BBC (Brain, Behavior, Cognition) from Northwestern University and completed her Bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Plan II at The University of Texas at Austin.

Passionate about science communication, Sarah has founded a podcast, written for various news outlets, and organized international science communication conferences to bridge the gap between research and the public.

With a diverse professional background, Sarah has held roles such as Director of Communications and Engagement at the University of Chicago's Institute for Mathematical and Statistical Innovation, Program Manager at Northwestern University, and Senior Copywriter at AbelsonTaylor. She has also served as an AAAS Mass Media Fellow-Science Reporter at Voice of America.

Sarah's experience includes creating and hosting the PhDrinking Podcast, conducting research at Universität zu Lübeck, and contributing as a Summer Visiting Researcher at various institutions. Her journey in academia includes roles as a PhD Candidate at Northwestern University and as a Summer Undergraduate Research Assistant at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and The University of Texas at Austin.
