Sarah Finnie Robinson is a renowned climate communication specialist with a wealth of experience in corporate sustainability and behavior change. She is the Founding Director of The 51 Percent Project, an initiative based at Boston University's Institute for Sustainable Energy that aims to tackle climate change by empowering women in leadership positions. Robinson holds a faculty appointment at Boston University's College of Communication and the Graduate Program in Urban Biogeoscience & Environmental Health.
In addition to her work with The 51 Percent Project, Robinson also serves on the Advisory Council of Boston Harbor Now and its Climate Roundtable. She is on the boards of ecoAmerica and the Planetary Health Alliance, where she continues to advocate for environmental sustainability.
Robinson is also the founding partner of WeSpire, a behavior change platform used by S&P 100 corporations to engage employees on sustainability and purpose-driven initiatives. Her ongoing research investigates barriers and accelerators to corporate climate action and stakeholder engagement, working in collaboration with Princeton University's Behavioral Science for Policy Lab.
Prior to her current roles, Robinson gained extensive experience in editorial and promotional roles in media companies, including The New Yorker, The Atlantic, and iVillage, where she was the launch content director. Publications of her work span The Atlantic, HuffPost, and mindbodygreen.
Robinson's educational background reflects her professional interests, having studied English at Princeton University and completing an M.A. in English Literature at Middlebury College Bread Loaf School. She has also completed courses in Strategies for Sustainable Business at Massachusetts Institute of Technology - Sloan School of Management, Seth Godin's altMBA, and Miss Porter's School.
