Sarah Otto

Sarah Otto is a highly accomplished professional with a background in biology, ecology, and evolution. She is best known for her contributions to the field of evolutionary ecology, particularly for her work on the evolution of sex, adaptation to climate change, and conservation biology. Otto has published numerous papers in scientific journals, authored several books, and is a fellow of the Royal Society of Canada. She is also a professor at the University of British Columbia, where she is the Director of the Biodiversity Research Centre and holds the Canada Research Chair in Theoretical and Experimental Evolution.

Otto has received many awards and accolades throughout her career, including the 2011 Killam Prize in Natural Sciences, the 2015 Sewall Wright Award from the American Society of Naturalists, and the 2021 Steacie Prize. She is an elected member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the Royal Society of Canada.
