Sarah Nechuta

Sarah Nechuta is an Associate Professor of Public Health in the Master of Public Health program at Grand Valley State University (GVSU).23 She is an epidemiologist, educator, and population health scientist with over 17 years of experience.4 Dr. Nechuta received her PhD in Epidemiology from Michigan State University and her MPH with a concentration in Epidemiology from the University of Michigan.23
At GVSU, Dr. Nechuta teaches and mentors students in epidemiology, public health science, and applied data analysis in both research and public health surveillance.1 She has mentored many undergraduate and graduate trainees throughout her career.4
In addition to her academic role, Dr. Nechuta is actively involved in professional organizations. She serves as the Chair of the Nominations and Elections Committee for the Michigan Public Health Association (MPHA) and is the Editor of the Michigan Journal of Public Health.1 She is also a member of the MPHA Epidemiology Section and serves as a mentor to the MPHA Student Section leadership.1
