Sarah Lewitinn

Sarah Lewitinn, born and raised in New York City to Egyptian-Jewish parents, is a notable figure in the music industry. Studying Advertising and Marketing at the Fashion Institute of Technology, Lewitinn began her career as a teenager writing for the AOL-based ABC Kidz site before interning at Spin Magazine. Soon after, she landed a job as an assistant to Michael Hirschorn at VH1. In 2002, she managed the rock bands, My Chemical Romance and stellastarr*, both before their first major record deals.
Following her successful stints, she launched her blog, Ultragrrrl.com in 2003, which established her as a taste-maker in the New York indie rock scene. In 2005, Lewitinn founded her own record label, Stolen Transmission in partnership with Island Def Jam and Rob Stevenson, the Island Def Jam A&R executive responsible for signing The Killers, and bands which were signed or had releases by Stolen Transmission included bands such as The Horrors, Permanent ME, and Schoolyard Heroes, among others.
Stevenson and Lewitinn later went on to found For The Win! Brand Strategies, an Internet marketing company focused on promoting bands and websites. In addition, in November 2008, Lewitinn became a featured presenter for FUSE's show "Fuse On Tour," where she presented "The Ultragrrrl Report." Lewitinn has also authored "The Pocket DJ" and has worked as the Music Marketing Director at NYLON and an Account Supervisor at Edelman.
Lewitinn has a diverse range of skills, including trend-spotting, viral marketing, branding, and opinion-giving. Currently, she works as the Music Director at Aritzia.
