Two weeks after I decided to go on sabbatical, I got a job at Sun City Lincoln Hills, a retirement community near me. I wanted to share my passion as a Pilates Reformer teacher to help senior citizens improve their mobility, strength, cognitive function and balance. I've been teaching group classes as well as private 1:1 sessions.

Launched new Renewable Energy Division for Reynolds, a large water resources general contractor company, specializing in turn-key design/build biogas plants. Developed entire strategy for marketing and sales approach into the biogas sector, managed department budget and critical relationship for Reynolds with Austrian biogas plant technology provider partner company, Entec Biogas. Delivered to Reynolds a $48 million project in Dona Ana County, New Mexico to build a 12 MW biogas plant on a well-known region called “Dairy Row”. Once completed this digester plant will be the largest in the world.

Managed the build of a $3 million biogas plant for a Michigan Public Service Commission grant project obtained by MAREC. This plant, commissioned and fully operational since January of 2008, is now the most technologically sophisticated and successfully operated biogas plant built in North America.

Developed and implemented critical systems required by the FDA and other regulatory bodies to ensure safe and compliant operations for a young and rapidly growing medical device and pharmaceutical company. Established the sterilization validation protocols following FDA regulations and ANSI/AAMI/ISO guidelines. Maintained close customer relationships to communicate quality strategies, conduct audits, and determine and achieve timely manufacturing schedules. Participated in determining the efficacy of a material for a novel micro drug delivery system.

Project Manager/R&D Scientist

Contributed to the setup of the Mass Spectrometry and Proteomics Core Facility Laboratory. This facility utilized an electrospray (ESI) nano-LC Quadropole Time of Flight (Q-Tof) Mass Spectrometer. Participated in the development of an enzymatic 18O isotope labeling strategy to analyze protein expression for biomarkers in liver and multiple myeloma cancer cells. Helped develop a double flow split vented column nano-LC configuration to maximize chromatographic sensitivity and resolution.

Senior Research Technician

Managed the Production and Process Engineering groups of a novel chemical vapor deposition semiconductor fabrication systems company. Actively contributed to the research and development that evolved the company’s technology. Scheduled and trained Hitachi Kokusai engineers in building semiconductor fabrication systems. Managed the build and successful shipment of a 200mm and 300mm system. Participated in the Remote Plasma Nitridation (RPN) of silicon development program. Scientifically contributed to a novel RPN ionization chamber design.
