Sarah Cassanego is a clean energy policy professional with a diverse background in utility, public sector, and non-profit roles. Sarah holds a Master of Public Policy (MPP) in Energy Policy from Duke University and a BA in International Relations from Stanford University. Her passion lies in transforming energy production and consumption towards sustainability at various levels.
With a strong educational foundation and hands-on experience, Sarah has served in key positions in different organizations. She has been a Trustee on the San Carlos School Board at the San Carlos School District, bringing her expertise to the education sector. Previously, she held the role of Senior Regulatory Policy Analyst at Pacific Gas and Electric Company, where she influenced energy regulations. She also worked as a Solar Coordinator and ARRA Clean Energy Project Coordinator at the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources (DOER), contributing significantly to renewable energy initiatives.
Sarah's commitment to environmental causes led her to roles such as Policy Intern at Ceres, Inc., Global Warming Intern at League of Conservation Voters, Land Specialist at Peninsula Open Space Trust (POST), and Development and Editorial Assistant at Peninsula Open Space Trust (POST) and Thomson Wadsworth (now Cengage Learning), showcasing her broad experience across various sectors.
