Sarah Biber
Innovation Facilitation - Strategic Partnerships - Program Leadership
Sarah Biber is a healthcare innovation facilitator and strategist who has dedicated her career to building and scaling impactful programs, partnerships, and processes to support entrepreneurs and startups in the digital health, precision medicine, medical devices, and diagnostics space. Her academic background includes a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Brandeis University and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Biology from Earlham College.
Sarah has played an instrumental role in the development of various organizations and initiatives within the healthcare innovation sphere, including serving as the founder and team lead of the OHSU Invent-a-thon at Oregon Health & Science University and as the Innovation Manager at the Department of Surgery at the Oregon Clinical and Translational Research Institute. She has also held positions as the Assistant Director of the National Center for Data to Health at Oregon Health and Science University, the Startup Resource Workgroup Lead at Portland IQ, and the Entrepreneurial Program Director at OTRADI & Oregon Bioscience Incubator, among others.
As a skilled communicator and relationship-builder, Sarah has a successful track record of engaging diverse stakeholders and navigating complex institutional landscapes to set and efficiently deliver on high value strategic objectives. She is a creative, committed, and collaborative team player who can mobilize cross-functional teams and establish operational models to enhance team productivity and accelerate innovation. Her areas of expertise include program management, strategic planning, partnerships, team facilitation, agile and lean development, innovation support, entrepreneurship, startups, business strategy, marketing, and market research.
Throughout her career, Sarah has been committed to promoting women in STEM and has actively contributed to several initiatives aimed at this objective, including co-founding and serving as the Lead Organizer of Accelerate Biotech and Digital Health PDX and writing content for the Oregon Bioscience Association. She has also gained extensive research experience through various projects and internships, including as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant at Brandeis University and the Marine Biological Laboratory, and as a recipient of the Howard Hughes Undergraduate Research Fellowship and the National Science Foundation Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU).
