Sara Curran

Sara Curran is a Professor of International Studies, Sociology, and Public Policy & Governance at the University of Washington.123 She joined the faculty in 2005 and holds additional positions as an Adjunct Professor of Global Health and Director of the Center for Studies in Demography & Ecology.12 Curran received her Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with specializations in demography and economic development.3

- Climate change, natural disasters, and population change

Curran has published extensively in academic journals such as Demography, Population and Development Review, and Social Forces.12 She currently serves as the Editor-in-Chief of Demography and is a member of several national boards, including the National Academies US Global Climate Change Research Committee's Advisory Board.3
In addition to her academic roles, Curran is the Associate Vice Provost for Research at the University of Washington, where she oversees Organized Research Units and works to support community-engaged research.3
