Santiago Bañales is a seasoned executive with over 25 years of experience in the energy sector. He has expertise in intrapreneurship, general management, turn around and restructuring programs, M&A, strategic marketing, technology, and product development. Bañales has fulfilled executive positions in R&D, engineering, product development, management consulting, M&A, general management (CTO and CEO), and board directorship. He has worked in various business environments globally, including state-owned and public companies, partnership firms, private equities, and family-owned international businesses. Bañales has studied energy engineering at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and Ecole Centrale Paris, a master's degree in technology, and policy from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has also completed a certificate in Corporate Governance-International Directors Programme (IDP-C) at INSEAD and a master's in big data and business analytics from Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia - U.N.E.D.
