Santiago Alfaro is a Research Scientist at Intel Corporation, where he has been working since 2015 in the Computational Imaging Lab under Ronald Azuma. His expertise lies in traditional and digital building and fabrication techniques, allowing him to prototype various applications across industries.12
Alfaro holds a Master’s degree in Industrial Design from the Rhode Island School of Design, as well as a Master’s and PhD from the MIT Media Lab. His research focuses on interface design, sensory substitution, and applications in virtual and augmented reality.34
In addition to his role at Intel, he has experience as a part-time faculty member at Northeastern University and has conducted research at the MIT Media Lab. Alfaro has also contributed to numerous patents and publications within his field.5
