Sanne Aalbers

Sanne Aalbers is a forensic statistician with a diverse range of professional experience. She has worked in various fields, including higher education and corporate investigations of fraud and financial crime. Sanne has a strong background in mathematical modeling and data analysis. She also possesses expertise in R/statistical programming and machine learning. She obtained an MSc in Forensic Science from the University of Amsterdam and an MSc/BSc in Applied Mathematics from Delft University of Technology. Sanne also holds a Ph.D. in Public Health Genetics from the University of Washington.
She started her career as a student intern at the Netherlands Forensic Institute and the University of Washington. She was also a student member of the Applied Mathematics Education Committee and Chief Commissioner of Applied Mathematics Education at W.I.S.V. 'Christiaan Huygens'. Sanne later worked as a Research Assistant and Research Scientist at the University of Washington. She then went on to become a Senior Consultant in Forensics at Deloitte Nederland.
Sanne has a significant interest in mathematical modeling, forensic science, machine learning, and data analysis. She is well-equipped to provide expert insight into various research questions.
