Sankha Datta, a Mechanical Engineer with over 35 years of experience in Diesel Locomotive Maintenance, recently retired on 31st October 2017. Before retiring, he worked as a Senior Section Engineer at N.F. Railway in Siliguri Jn. He holds a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and an Executive MBA (HR) from Jalpaiguri Govt. Polytechnic and Karnataka State Open University, respectively.

Additionally, Sankha has eight years of experience as a Trainer in Diesel Traction Training Centre, where he developed an interest in Renewable Energy Technologies, Rural Technology, Innovation Promotion, and Entrepreneurship Development. His passion for innovation has earned him recognition and awards such as the Gold and Silver Medals at India International Innovation Fair 2017 and the First Prize Winner at India Innovation Initiative - National Innovation Fair 2009.

Moreover, he is a TePP-supported innovator for Light Duty Variable Displacement Compressor and received an innovation grant for the Indigenous Design of Swirl Flame LPG Burner for Commercial Cooking. His expertise and professional experience make him a valuable asset in various fields, including mechanical engineering, rural technology, renewable energy technologies, and innovation promotion.
