Sanjay Mistry

Sanjay Mistry is a results-driven business leader with 18 years of comprehensive experience in start-up biotech, large pharma, and venture capital. He has deep academic training in the life sciences with a specialization in clinical pharmacology and has over 40 patents and publications to his name. Sanjay is a Kauffman Fellow (Class 14) and has built and launched several new companies over the course of his career. He has held senior leadership positions at various organizations including Johnson & Johnson, Quaker Partners, Morphogen Pharmaceuticals, and The Scripps Research Institute.

Sanjay Mistry studied clinical pharmacology and pharmacology at the University of Aberdeen, where he earned a doctorate and a master's degree, respectively. He also received his bachelor's degree in biomedical science/pharmacology from Nottingham Trent University.

Sanjay is currently the Head of JLABS @ San Diego for Johnson & Johnson Innovation at Johnson & Johnson, where he is responsible for driving innovation in healthcare through collaboration with startups. Prior to this, he served as Senior Finance Director Business Operations for Janssen Pharmaceuticals R&D at The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson and as the Head of External Value Creation & Business Operations/Venture Leader at The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson.

In addition to his leadership roles, Sanjay has also worked as an Assistant Director at Johnson & Johnson, a Development Scientist at Morphogen Pharmaceuticals, a Postdoctoral Fellow at The Scripps Research Institute, and a Postdoctoral Fellow at UPMC.
