Dr. Sanjay Kataria is a prominent figure in the field of Library and Information Science, currently serving as the Founding Librarian at BITSoM (BITS School of Management). He has an extensive career spanning nearly 18 years, during which he has held various significant positions, including University Librarian at Bennett University and Jaypee Institute of Information Technology.
Academic and Professional Achievements
- Fellowships and Awards: Dr. Kataria was awarded the Commonwealth Professional Fellowship twice, in 2012 and 2017, by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in London. He also received the SATKAL Best Young Librarian Award in 2012 and the A. N. Marappan Memorial National Best Young Librarian Award in 2009.
- Contributions to Library Science: He is known for conceptualizing ETTLIS (Emerging Trends and Technologies in Libraries and Information Services), which has become an internationally recognized symposium. Dr. Kataria has delivered over 60 invited talks at various conferences and has published around 35 research papers along with editing 10 books and conference proceedings.
- Supervision and Mentorship: He has supervised multiple scholars, including three Ph.D. candidates and one MPhil student.
