Developed a J2ME Music player application for MIDP handsets. The player compiles a list of all music on the phone. It can recommend similar music and mobile users can buy music from this application as well.  There's  a community  feature  built  around the player so users can recommend music and send messages to their friends. It uses JSR 135 API to play multimedia and JSR 75 to access local file system on the phone and the address book on the phone

-- Developed  a  J2ME  application  for  Alerts  USA  Inc  that  delivers  Homeland  Security  and  other terrorism-related   audio   and  text  alerts  to  Sprint  and  Cingular  handsets.  This  application  plays streaming-audio news/alert clips, and delivers text-based news/alerts.
-- Developed a new J2ME media player application that plays live-video streams from a proprietary video streaming server. This works on Sprint's EVDO and Cingular's 3G networks.
-- Developed a J2ME application for  BCN Mobile that plays live comedy radio stations and audio jokes from BCN. This application is ported to J2ME handsets on Sprint and Boost mobile networks.
-- Developed Server-side applications in C and Java languages for all the above applications to serve live and recorded audio and video via socket and http interfaces.

-- Developed a J2ME contact-less payment application for Visa International, which uses Secure Element hardware  on  mobile  phones  to  store  credit/debit  card  information.  In  addition  to  payment,  this application enables the consumer to manage account, receive transaction alerts and merchant coupons etc. This application is designed to be customized for different financial institutions and can support multiple languages.
-- Developed  an  offers-only  J2ME  application  for  Visa  that  enables  consumers  to manage  merchant coupons and redeem them. It uses messaging API (SMS/MMS) on the phone to receive mobile offers from merchants; consumers can store them in the phone and redeem these coupons at merchant sites.

-- Developed ESPN Radio Plus J2ME application that plays live ESPN radio and NCAA games from ESPN.
This application is ported to J2ME handsets on Sprint and Cingular networks.
-- Developed UpSnap Mobile Search and Live Entertainment application that brings UpSnap's ad-enabled
411, weather, horoscopes, live music and other services to Sprint and Boost mobile handsets.

-- Developed RSS reader application for mobile phones. This application enables users to read news and play podcasts too. Client application is developed in J2ME MIDP 2.0/CLDC 1.0.
-- Part of a team that developed web-application for podcasts using JSP, Spring and Servlets.
-- Developed an Enterprise class On-line chat support application using Java Swing, Servlets and JSP.
-- Developed template-based UI framework for easy development of MIDP applications. This framework is similar to a mark up language for a desktop Internet browser.
-- Developed  MIDP  1.0,  MIDP  2.0 and  BREW applications for many clients based on this templatized framework.
-- Developed  UI components  with  custom  painting  and  animation  for BREW  and  MIDP  based devices that are used in our projects.
-- Developed video conferencing application that runs on Linux. It uses H.263 encoder to encode/decode video and SDL library to render video on the display. I've used PWLib and its video plug-ins to capture video and OpenH323 and its plug-ins to encode and send video over network.
-- Part of the team that developed UPnP plug-in for our P2P application.
-- Developed a Peer-to-peer network-based  streaming media framework in C++. It can be used to stream multimedia data from a home network without the need for huge farm of servers and Content Delivery Networks.

VERKATA LLC

-- Developed  a proprietary  Network  Attached  Storage  (NAS)  device  based  on Linux  2.4 kernels  in C language; was the only developer involved in designing custom configured NAS devices for different clients; was using Linux 2.4 kernel's CIFS kernel module in designing them; was built on custom made Debian based Linux kernels; developed TCL and PHP based UI for these devices.
-- Developed next-generation  intelligent backup NAS devices running on Linux in C. These devices can automatically backup data on all the computers in a Windows/Samba domain.
-- Designed   and  deployed   custom   fail-over   Linux   CIFS   file-servers   (2-node   clusters)   and multi-domain fail-over email servers.
-- Designed and deployed custom Linux based networks at different client locations as custom wireless access points, firewalls and VPN servers.
-- Designed and deployed custom Linux based wireless access points with session based authentication and access control and Intrusion Detection System.

Developed a spam filter plug-in for Microsoft Outlook that filters out spam and junk emails; developed the plug-in  based  on an open  source  Bayesian  filtering  engine;  developed  the Bayesian engine in Python and plug-in for Microsoft's Outlook.
