Sandy Martinez

Sandy Martinez, M.Ed., is a dedicated professional with a comprehensive background in various aspects of higher education, including human resources, finance, student services, and strategic planning, spanning over 20 years.

Her skill set includes organizing networking events, collaborating with businesses and university departments, improving student retention efforts, financial advising, streamlining processes, fiscal management, employee training, and facilitating events.

Sandy holds a master's degree in Higher and Postsecondary Education and is deeply passionate about education, particularly for underrepresented groups and first-generation students.

Her research interests focus on mentoring, university administration, career advancement, diversity, and women in higher education, showcasing her commitment to making a difference in academia.

As an active member of ASU Chicano/Latino Faculty and Staff Association and the Commission on the Status of Women, Sandy has demonstrated leadership in creating professional development opportunities and supporting underrepresented groups within the university community.

She strongly advocates for justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion, striving to empower staff, promote workplace equality, embrace diversity, and combat racism and social injustices.

Sandy Martinez currently serves as the Director of the ASU Center for Gender Equity in Science and Technology, further highlighting her dedication to fostering inclusivity and advancing opportunities in the academic field.
