Sandy Hoang is a recent Echols Scholar graduate from the University of Virginia with a BA in Biology and Art History. Currently pursuing a Doctor of Medicine degree at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, she aspires to be a physician dedicated to providing smart and compassionate patient care. Sandy is actively involved in cutting-edge scientific research and is currently assisting Dr. Bruno Averbeck at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) as a Postbaccalaureate Research Fellow in the Section on Learning and Decision Making. Her diverse student leadership roles in service and art organizations have honed her into a creative thinker and effective leader, attributes she is eager to contribute to any setting.
