Sandra Schmid
Dr. Sandra Schmid is a highly accomplished professional with an extensive educational background and a wealth of experience in the field of cell biology and molecular research.
She holds a Ph.D. from Stanford University School of Medicine, an MSEL from the University of San Diego, and a B.Sc. from The University of British Columbia. Additionally, she has completed Postdoctoral Research positions at Yale University School of Medicine.
Dr. Schmid has held prominent positions in various prestigious organizations. She currently serves as the Chief Scientific Officer at Chan Zuckerberg Biohub. Earlier in her career, she was an Adjunct Professor and later promoted to the positions of Professor and Chairman at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Moreover, she has contributed significantly to the American Society for Cell Biology as the President and Editor-in-chief of Molecular Biology of the Cell at the University of San Diego.
Her academic journey includes notable roles such as Professor and Chairman at The Scripps Research Institute, Associate Professor (with tenure), Assistant/Associate Professor, and Postdoctoral Fellow at Lucille P. Markey Scholar, Yale University, and Helen Hay Whitney.
