Samuel Hoover

Samuel Hoover is an accomplished attorney with extensive experience in civil rights, environmental protection, natural resource conservation, and violence prevention. He attended the University of Toledo College of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctor degree, and the University of Iowa, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. Sam's public interest work ranges from legislative and regulatory work to litigation and policy analysis in various legal areas. As an attorney, Sam can write detailed legal analyses for attorneys or judges as well as craft concise legal summaries for the general public.
Sam has extensive experience directing both pro bono attorney programs and legal intern programs, and he is efficient at coordinating with other attorneys, reviewing project deliverables, and providing feedback. Furthermore, Sam is highly skilled in web design, content management, and site maintenance. Prior to his current role, he worked as a staff attorney with the Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence (formerly Legal Community Against Violence) where he worked on legislation, litigation, and public education initiatives.
Sam has worked on international human rights projects in Zimbabwe and Costa Rica and interned with both the U.S. Department of State and Ohio Civil Rights Commission. He has experience in various law firms, including the Law Office of Dennis Cunningham in San Francisco, where he worked on civil rights cases. In addition, he has completed numerous projects with the Office of Environmental Policy and Compliance, U.S. Department of the Interior, and co-authored a paper for the 2011 International Oil Spill Conference. Sam's diverse skills, experience, and interests make him a valuable asset to any organization interested in effecting meaningful change.
