Samir Chatterjee is a dedicated individual who finds joy in learning and serving others. His educational background is extensive, having earned a Master's degree in English Literature from the University of Calcutta and a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature/Letters from Ramakrishna Mission Ashram, Narendrapur, before furthering his studies with two more Master's degrees from the University of Calcutta, Max Mueller Bhawan, and RKMIC in German.
Professionally, Samir Chatterjee has held various significant positions in esteemed organizations. He currently serves as a Professor at The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music. Previously, he was a key member of the Junoon Sufi-Rock band, a Professor at the University of Pittsburgh, a Professor at the Manhattan School of Music, President and founding director at Chhandayan Center for Indian Music, Director at Chhandayan, and a Visiting Lecturer at Queens College.
