Samir Afzal

Samir Afzal is a Principal at NextEquity Partners, a role in which he leverages his extensive background in investment and technology. He previously worked as a Senior Associate at Turn/River Capital, where he was involved in various aspects of the investment process, including sourcing deals, conducting in-depth analyses, performing due diligence, and executing transactions. Additionally, he assisted portfolio companies with best practices in sales, marketing, and customer success.12

Afzal has significant experience in enterprise technology investments, having worked on notable investments in companies such as Invicti Security, ActiveState, Trakstar, Airbrake.io, and Magnus Health. Before his tenure at Turn/River Capital, he served as an Analyst in J.P. Morgan’s technology coverage group in San Francisco.13

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California. Outside of his professional life, Samir is an avid golfer and enjoys collecting wines, cooking, watching Formula 1 racing, and supporting his alma mater, the USC Trojans.14
