Sam Vargen

Sam Vargen is a talented Film Production student with a focus on Directing at Chapman University, where he is currently in his final semester.

He has an impressive track record of creating, directing, and editing various short films and music videos, many of which have garnered recognition at prestigious film festivals nationwide.

His short film 'Rhythms' was showcased at the San Pedro International Film Festival, earned a Best Student Film nomination at the Oceanside International Film Festival, secured the Best Cinematography award at the Bay Area Student Shorts Festival, and made it as a Semi-Finalist at the JellyFEST Film Festival.

Having recently finished a seven-month internship at Campfire Film and TV, Sam gained valuable experience in both production and development roles.

Currently, he is honing his skills as a development intern at di Bonaventura Pictures, showcasing his dedication to learning and growing in the film industry.

Sam Vargen showcases versatility by having hands-on experience across various departments on student film sets, holding roles such as writer/director, editor, cinematographer, 1st AD, Key Grip, Gaffer, 1st AC, Best Boy Grip, Boom Op, Sound Mixer, and Colorist.

Sam's educational background includes pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Film Production with a specialization in Directing from Chapman University, along with an Associate of Arts (AA) in Political Science from Diablo Valley College and a High School Diploma from College Park High School.

His professional journey includes roles like Post Production Assistant and Production Assistant at Campfire Studios, as well as stints as a Development Intern at di Bonaventura Pictures, Production and Development Intern at Campfire, Server at Zachary's Chicago Pizza, Background Actor in 'Sorry to Bother You,' Barista at Peet's Coffee, Screen Printer at Bay Area Screenprint, Editor and Camera Operator at Accidental Productions, and Videographer as a Freelance professional.
