Sam Sudar
Software Engineer at Substack
Sam Sudar is an engineer at Substack with a focus on building better incentives for the internet. Prior to his current role, Sam worked at Google Seattle where he contributed to projects like Chrome for Emerging Markets and the Dataflow team in Google Cloud.
Before joining Google, Sam completed a Computer Science PhD at the University of Washington in Seattle, specializing in designing mobile systems for developing regions. His academic background includes an MPhil in neuroscience from the University of Cambridge, with a focus on neurobiology and multiple sclerosis.
Sam's educational journey also includes a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Washington, where he concentrated on applying machine learning techniques to brain signals. Aside from his technical expertise, Sam also has a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy and English Literature, along with a degree with a minor in Music and Neurobiology.
Throughout his career, Sam has held various roles in prestigious organizations, including Substack, Google, Yelp, and the University of Washington Center for Commercialization. He has also contributed as a Teaching Assistant and Graduate Researcher at renowned labs such as Borriello Lab, Center for Sensorimotor Neural Engineering, and Franklin Laboratory.
