Sam Schuchat is an accomplished government and not-for-profit management expert with extensive experience in strategic planning, environmental policy, land conservation, and politics. He earned a Masters in Public Administration from San Francisco State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from Williams College. Schuchat currently serves as the Executive Officer at the California State Coastal Conservancy, where he helps preserve the state's coast and improve public access to it.

Before his work at the State Coastal Conservancy, Schuchat was the Executive Director at the California League of Conservation Voters, as well as the Federation of State Conservation Voter Leagues. He also served as the Deputy Director at the Sacramento AIDS Foundation. Schuchat brings a unique combination of skills to his work, making him an effective fundraiser, nonprofit manager, and policy expert.

Outside of his professional work, Schuchat has served on several nonprofit boards, including the Ocean Protection Council, the Pacific Institute, and the East League of Conservation Voters. He was also a Board Member at Temple Sinai.
