Sam Ng

Sam Ng is a seasoned entrepreneur, investor, and optimist with a strong passion for digital technologies, global issues, entrepreneurship, and caring for people.

With a background in user experience, software as a service, and tech-for-good initiatives, Sam has a diverse experience in international development, innovation, and emerging technologies.

Having studied B Tech in New Product Development at Massey University, Sam has honed his skills and knowledge to excel in the early stages of new ventures.

Throughout his career, Sam has held key positions in various organizations, including Director at Optimal Workshop, Director at Nelson Regional Development Agency, and EHF Fellow at Edmund Hillary Fellowship.

He has also contributed as an emerging technology advisor at UNDP, Head of Digital Solutions at UNDP, and in pivotal roles at the World Food Programme, such as Special Projects and advisor at WFP Innovation Accelerator, Head of Innovation Services, and Head of Frontier Innovations.

His experience extends to roles at Kiwibank as Proposition Lead, at DAI as Deputy Chief of Party and Innovation Manager, and at Optimal Usability as Head of Service Design.

Furthermore, Sam has founded and co-founded several impactful ventures like Good For Nothing Challenge in Cambodia, Grit Learning, The Mekong Club, Optimal Experience, and Optimal Workshop.

His expertise in social business, service design, project management, and marketing analytics has been demonstrated in his roles at SHIFT360, The Mekong Club, and Independent.
