SAM GOLDWATER

Sam Goldwater has an impressive 40-year career in the fire safety and emergency management industry, combining firefighting experience with business expertise. Currently serving as the Executive Director of the National Fire Heritage Center, Sam has also held senior executive positions with renowned organizations such as KFT Fire Trainers-Kidde, Protection Development, Inc., ADS Tactical, and NorthTree Fire International, among others. He has a strong track record of growing organizations, successful incident command and emergency management, and business development and strategic planning. Sam has gained extensive knowledge and skills studying volunteer fire service management, instructor courses, behavioral sciences, fire protection, and education from Maryland Fire & Rescue Institute and other institutions. He has a Master's degree in trade and industrial education/adult education from Oklahoma State University. Sam's professional background covers fire protection, fire protection engineering, fire training, project management, rail safety, and emergency services for Government Agencies and Rail/Petro-chemical Industries, focusing specifically on Crude Oil By Rail. His experience responding to major disasters and emergencies, including hurricanes Katrina and Rita, where he was Area IC working with the LA State Police, FEMA, and three Class I Railroads, and his ability to develop a track record of growing organizations, stands out.
