Salmah Y. Rizvi is an accomplished professional with a strong educational background and a diverse range of experiences in the legal, international relations, and human rights fields. She holds a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from New York University School of Law, a Master of Science (MS) in Foreign Service with a focus on International Security & Foreign Policy from Georgetown University, and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Anthropology from The Johns Hopkins University.
Salmah has held various impressive roles including serving as a Federal Judicial Law Clerk at the U.S. Courts of Appeals, a Litigation Associate at Ropes & Gray LLP, and as a Legal Extern at the United States Attorneys' Offices. She has also worked as a Legal Intern at the Civil Rights Clinic of the New York Civil Liberties Union, and as a Policy Analyst at the U.S. Department of State.
Furthermore, Salmah's experience extends to positions such as Center for Human Rights & Global Justice Fellow at Al-Haq Organisation, Chair of the Islamic Cultural Employee Resource Group at the United States Department of Defense, and as a Linguist & Intelligence Analyst within the same department. She has also served as the Deputy Director at the Institute on Religion and Public Policy's Inter-Parliamentary Conference on Human Rights & Religious Freedom, and as Co-Founder of the Muslim American Project at the Muslim Public Affairs Council.
Additionally, Salmah has shown her commitment to human rights and education through roles such as being the Founder of Vision XChange, a Stokes Educational Scholar at the United States Department of Defense, and a Student Commissioner at the Howard County Human Rights Commission.
