Sakibul Huq

Sakibul Huq, MD, is a neurosurgery resident at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) and a former Mission Fellow for the Young Neurosurgeons Committee of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS). He earned his MD from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 2021 and his undergraduate degree in biology and business administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a Morehead-Cain Scholar.

Dr. Huq specializes in neuro-oncology and skull base surgery, with significant contributions to translational research on brain tumors, including liquid biopsy techniques and predictive analytics in neurosurgical oncology. He has authored over 45 peer-reviewed publications and received numerous awards, such as the Beckwith Institute Clinical Transformation Program Grant and the Physician Scientist Incubator Program Fellowship. Additionally, he is pursuing an enfolded skull base fellowship at UPMC under renowned mentors.

Beyond his academic achievements, Dr. Huq has a background in management consulting and is passionate about medical education, mentoring students at various stages of training. His hobbies include fitness, soccer, basketball, travel, and music, and he resides in Pittsburgh with his fiancée and their dog, Kobe.123
