Sahar Akbarzai

Sahar Akbarzai is a talented journalist and political scientist with a passion for human rights and international relations. After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and International and Global Studies from Rutgers University–New Brunswick, she went on to work as a News Assistant for CNN and later as a Freelance Reporter/Writer for Vox.com. She has also served as a Young Leaders Board of Advisors member for Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights and a Young Human Rights Defender Fellow for Amnesty International. Sahar has founded several organizations, including Global Allies, and has worked as a Reporter and Producer for the Sadie Nash Leadership Project's Ella Baker Fellowship. Additionally, she has spent time abroad studying South African social issues as a research scholar with Rutgers University Study Abroad Honors Program. With a diverse background in journalism, politics, and activism, Sahar brings a unique perspective and commitment to her work.
