Saeju Jeong: From Heavy Metal to Health Tech Entrepreneur

Saeju Jeong, the CEO and co-founder of Noom, a digital health platform known for its innovative approach to behavior change, is driven to help people live healthier lives. Jeong's entrepreneurial spirit began early in his life when he founded South Korea's first heavy metal record label after dropping out of college. Although he comes from a family of doctors, Jeong pursued a career in tech and later teamed up with his co-founder Artem Petakov to launch Noom.

Jeong's passion for improving people's wellbeing fueled his mission to empower Noomers to take control of their health. For more than 13 years, Jeong has led Noom through several years of remarkable growth, helping millions of people change their behavior for good. His unique strategy combines human coaching, psychology, and technology, enabling Noom to stand out in the crowded health tech market.

Jeong's commitment to innovation and helping people has earned him recognition in the business world. He was named EY Entrepreneur of the Year in 2020. Additionally, Jeong remains an active member of the World Economic Forum's Global Innovators Community.

With a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Hongik University, Jeong is no stranger to leveraging technology to make a difference. Before founding Noom, he worked as a networking administrator at L.C. Tek Inc. and founder of BuyHard Productions.
