Sabina Vajrača

Sabina Vajrača is an American film director, screenwriter, and producer, born on May 30, 1977, in Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina. She is best known for her work on the 2005 documentary Back to Bosnia, which reflects her experiences as a war refugee during the Bosnian War. Vajrača began her artistic journey as a poet and short-story writer, and she aspired to become a film director from a young age. After fleeing her home due to the war, she settled in the United States, where she has continued her career in film and theatre, particularly in New York City.1

Throughout her career, she has directed several films, including Apparition (2009) and Smoking Kills (2011), and has worked on various television projects such as Generations Matter for ESPN. Currently, she is involved in projects under Gemini/Snake, where she continues to explore themes related to her background and experiences.123
