Sabina Bharwani, Founder & CEO of Hello World CS

Sabina Bharwani is the Founder and CEO of Hello World CS, a SaaS company that provides world-class computer science education to K-12 students, particularly those from underserved communities.12 She has a strong background in education, having previously worked as a teacher through Teach For America and held various leadership roles at the organization.2

Early Career and Education

• Taught math and computer science at Uncommon Schools in Brooklyn, NY from 2010-20122
• Served as a Fulbright Scholar conducting research on student dropout rates, attendance, test scores, family engagement and teacher leadership in indigenous and urban communities in Canada and Mexico from 2007-20082
• Holds a Bachelor of Science in Computational and Applied Mathematics from Rice University and a Master in Public Policy with a focus on Business and Government Partnerships from Harvard Kennedy School23

Founding Hello World

Inspired by her experience teaching in low-income schools, Sabina founded Hello World in 2016 to make rigorous computer science education accessible to all students.1 The company partners with schools and businesses to provide in-person and online courses covering topics like AI, data science, virtual reality, and mobile app development.1

Vision and Impact

Sabina's goal is for Hello World to represent 20-30% of the market for online K-12 computer science education within the next decade, with a focus on low-income schools.1 She hopes to see more Black, Latinx, and female students from underrepresented backgrounds pursuing influential careers in tech as a result of Hello World's programs.1

In 2021, Sabina was named a Cartier Women's Initiative Fellow for North America in recognition of Hello World's innovative approach to expanding access to computer science education.14
