Rylan Sekiguchi
Curriculum Designer and Instructor at Stanford University
Rylan Sekiguchi is the Manager of Curriculum and Instructional Design at the Stanford Program on International and Cross-Cultural Education (SPICE), specializing in developing educational materials for K–12 and community college classrooms. With a background in Bachelor of Science (BS) in Symbolic Systems from Stanford University, Rylan's expertise lies in curriculum design, global education, education technology, student motivation and learning, and mindset science.
Rylan has authored over a dozen curriculum units, two documentary films, and various web-based resources, some of which have been recognized with the prestigious Franklin R. Buchanan Prize for Curricular Materials. His work has also been featured in prominent publications by the National Council for History Education and the Association for Asian Studies.
In addition to curriculum development, Rylan offers internationally themed professional development for teachers. He has conducted seminars nationwide for organizations like the National Council for the Social Studies, International Baccalaureate, the African Studies Association, and the National Consortium for Teaching about Asia. Rylan has also facilitated workshops for educators in Europe and Asia, including those from international schools.
